Factual accuracy is the most important thing HealthyFreePress can offer. If something on the site is wrong, we want to know and we will fix it.
What counts as a correction
We will issue a correction for:
- A factual error in an original HealthyFreePress post (a roundup, explainer, or other byline-attributed piece).
- A rewritten headline that materially misrepresents the underlying article.
- A misattribution of a source or quote.
- A broken or wrong outbound link.
For factual errors in a source article that we link out to, the correction is the publisher’s responsibility. We will, however, note in the linked post that the source has been disputed or corrected when that is brought to our attention.
How to report an error
Email editor@healthyfreepress.com with:
- The URL of the post on HealthyFreePress.
- The specific text or claim you believe is incorrect.
- The correct information and, if possible, a source we can verify.
We respond to every correction request. Most are reviewed within two business days.
How corrections are handled
If we confirm an error:
- In an original post, we correct the text in place and append a dated “Correction” note at the bottom of the post stating what was changed and when.
- In an aggregated headline, we either update the rewritten headline to match the source or unpublish the item if the source itself has been retracted.
- In a source link, we update the URL or remove the link if the source page is gone.
If we determine no correction is warranted, we will reply to you explaining why.
Retractions
If a post is found to be fundamentally wrong rather than wrong in a single detail, we retract it. Retracted posts display a “Retracted” notice at the top of the post and an explanation of why, rather than being silently deleted.
